You Don't Need to Be a Genius Hacker to Work in Cybersecurity

An engaging and practical session hosted by Robbie Tyrie (Founder of Torridon Cyber) at the Abertay cyberQuarter in Dundee.

This talk challenges the common industry misconception that cybersecurity careers are exclusively reserved for elite coders and technical masterminds. Attendees will explore the diverse range of entry routes and non-offensive disciplines across governance, risk, compliance (GRC), operations, and auditing, while breaking down the mindset, transferable skills, and concrete first steps required to land an entry-level role in tech.
